Kerry D. Douglas has been a partner of Douglas, Haun & Heidemann, P.C. since 1972. Kerry is the third generation of the Douglas family to practice law at the same location in Bolivar, Missouri.

About the Selection Process

Law & Politics, who in conjunction with KC Magazine publishes The Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer Magazine, uses a rigorous system in selecting candidates. Their process includes a system of balloting, peer evaluation, and internal research. This year over 23,000 ballots were sent out to lawyers in Missouri and Kansas who have been in practice at least five years.

Lawyers were asked to nominate the best lawyers they have personally seen in action.

Nominations were not limited to private practice and lawyers could not vote for themselves. In addition, The Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer Magazine does it own independent research by going through national and local publications as well as legal trade journals and searching professional databases.

Once the selections have been made, the candidate’s background and experience are reviewed. Factors including verdicts and settlements, transactions, experience, honors and awards, pro bono and community service are considered in the process. Candidates are then evaluated by a panel of attorneys experienced in their practice area. Only 5 percent of all the lawyers in Missouri and Kansas are selected as Super Lawyers.
